Theme for #KeralaBusinessChallenge 2020

This year's theme for #KeralaBusinessChallenge is ‘The Business of Football'.

Students should submit presentations connected to football and its business-side.

Why #KeralaBusinessChallenge?

For some students, this practical experience will enhance their power to dream big and inspire them to become better leaders of tomorrow, while for some others a spark of an idea during the event can encourage them to build an inspiring global enterprise from Kerala.

Business of Football

Historians say that Football in its current form emerged in England in the middle of the 19th century. The game was initially meant for entertainment for the British working class.

Many years later, in 1885 professional football was legalized. Three years later the Football League was established. Football Leagues explored the Business side of Football and its profitability.

Since then Football has exploded across continents, recently nations participating in World Cup qualifiers were over 210 in 2018. Today, there are 211 national associations included in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) - In English, the translation is International Federation of Association Football - which is the highest governing body of football. Another major association is UEFA – the Union of European Football Associations – is the governing body of European football and the umbrella organisation for 55 national associations.

Now, football has been an integral part of our communities. It is more than a game, it is a way of life that we all embrace, regardless of nationality, creed, ethnicity, education, gender or religion.

Yet football does belong to the ones who run the business side of football. It belongs to the people who keep running the show. They are the unsung heroes. In case they didn’t manage well, scoring of goals never happen so do achieving its business goals.

So, Playing the Business of Football matter.

It is what the business side of Football do keep the game of Football going forward!
